Recap: 2016

The new year is here. 2017. It’s the year I’m finally graduating college and hopefully moving out. This means the year I become an adult. Before we talk about the new year, let’s recap on 2016.

Two thousand sixteen was a year of great experiences. I was honored to be a bridesmaid in two of my best friends weddings. I reconnected with old friends and made new ones. I became an alumna of Gamma Phi Beta at Kennesaw State. I managed interning at Q100 Atlanta as an intern with the Adam Bomb Show until May, while working 20 hours a week, and taking five classes in the Spring, four classes in the Summer, and five classes in the Fall. Fall semester was the semester that tested my strength and couldn’t have been done without a lot of prayers and coffee. This was the semester when I learned the most about my strength, after many breakdowns of course.

Toward the end of the year, I scored an amazing internship with Kick’s 101.5 as a Marketing/Promotions Intern. When I thought things were going great, I was laid-off from my job where I was employed for year. It was hard to grasp at first but then I remembered, “when God closes a door, he opens a window”

Enough about business. August of 2016 I went on my first date after two weeks of texting with a pretty sweet guy named Aaron and we’ve been going steady ever since. We met through a mutual friend when I finally decided I was taking a break on dating. But nothing ever goes as planned and that I’m thankful for, at least this time.

I can’t wait to share my experiences, tips, and tricks from this year with you as I take on my last semester of college and my first experiences of adulting. Stay tuned.
